Job Summary

This role involves the crucial task of designing wiring harnesses in a 3D CAD environment, specifically within the automotive sector. The Design Engineer will be responsible for the development and optimization of components and cable routing, managing the process from initial design through to prototype construction and testing. Day-to-day activities include technical coordination with clients regarding assembly requirements, presenting design statuses, and initiating necessary trials and prototype builds. A key component of the job is contributing to development and quotation concepts, as well as assisting in the creation of specifications and technical documentation. The ideal candidate possesses a degree or qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, coupled with initial or several years of experience in electrical system design and proficiency in 3D CAD tools like Siemens NX or Catia V5.
