Job Summary

This role is for an experienced Senior Technologist specializing in Surface and Optical Coating Technology at Leica Camera AG in Wetzlar. The professional will be the central expert, driving innovation by scouting, analyzing, and evaluating new materials and processes for surface and optical coatings, focusing on decorative, anti-corrosion, and optical applications. Key responsibilities include designing and developing new layer stacks, planning and executing laboratory tests, and successfully transferring new technologies into stable, high-volume production processes. The role requires optimizing existing coating processes using KVP, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies, managing technology projects, and acting as the primary interface between R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and external partners.
