Job Summary

This role involves working as a Research Scientist within the BMFTR-funded DESMEX-MinD project, focusing on advancing geophysical measurement technologies and innovative exploration concepts, particularly in the Ore Mountains and Upper Harz regions of Germany. The core responsibility is the development of Time-Domain Electromagnetic (TDEM) inversion algorithms and numerical methods for 3D inversion of semi-airborne EM data, aiming to enhance compatibility with established methods. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting geophysical field data, supporting geological modeling, and participating in joint field campaigns, often under challenging environmental conditions. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Geophysics, Physics, or a comparable field, possess strong programming skills (e.g., Python, C++), and be prepared for fieldwork and business travel. This 36-month, 75% time-limited position offers the opportunity for doctoral studies (PhD) within an interdisciplinary research environment in Hannover.
