Job Summary

This Doctoral Researcher position is based at the Institute for Bioprocess and Analytical Measurement Techniques (iba), focusing on applied research in biotechniques at interfaces, specifically developing technical systems for life sciences. The core work involves investigating the growth and cell motility of tumor spheroids and vascular structures within 3D model systems, such as Tumor-on-a-Chip, to create physiologically relevant in vitro models for breast, colorectal cancer, and glioblastoma. Day-to-day tasks include planning, executing, and evaluating experiments, utilizing 2-Photon Lithography to create 3D scaffold structures, and characterizing these models using confocal microscopy, AFM, and spectroscopy. The role requires a Master's degree in Biophysics, Biotechnology, or Physics, strong skills in optical microscopy, and experience with microfluidics and mammalian cell culture. Proficiency in German and English is essential for communication within this interdisciplinary and internationally networked research environment.
