Job Summary

This role involves supporting academic programs within the Engineering Sciences department, primarily focusing on Mechanical Engineering and Energy and Building Services Engineering. The Laboratory Engineer is responsible for preparing, conducting, and following up on laboratory practicals, PC exercises, and cooperative projects with industry partners, covering areas such as fluid flow generators, renewable energy utilization (fuel cells, hydropower), HVAC, thermography, materials technology, and manufacturing metrology. A key part of the job is ensuring the operational readiness of specialized laboratories, including coordinating maintenance, calibration, repairs, and preparing technical specifications for new equipment procurement. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering Sciences (Energy Technology or Mechanical Engineering focus) and possesses practical experience in testing technology, plant operations, and measurement/control systems. Successfully completed relevant degree in Engineering Sciences (Energy Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field) at least at Bachelor or Dipl.-Ing. (BA/FH) level

  • Professional experience in plant operations and systems technology
  • Professional experience in measurement, control, and regulation technology
  • Experience in teaching and interest in innovative teaching concepts (advantageous)
  • Experience with measurement and sensor technology (including calibration and handling measurement uncertainties) (advantageous)
  • Experience with digital building management system monitoring and knowledge of facility management (advantageous)
