Job Summary
This leadership role involves the strategic, conceptual, and operational management of the 'Environment and Nature' department within the City of Potsdam's 'Climate, Economy, and Environment' division. The successful candidate will oversee critical areas including waste management, contaminated sites, soil protection, immission control, nature conservation, agriculture, and water law. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading projects, managing financial and personnel resources, driving process digitalization and change management, and representing the department in public and committee settings. The position requires a Master's degree in a relevant scientific or legal field (e.g., Environmental Sciences, Water Management, or full legal qualification) and at least three years of leadership experience in a lower administrative authority. Education
Completed scientific university degree (Master/Dipl.-Uni) in Environmental and Nature Conservation, Water Management (e.g., Environmental Sciences, Biodiversity and Nature Conservation), Natural Sciences (e.g., Biology, Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, Geohydrology), or a Jurist with qualification for judicial office (Full Lawyer/Volljurist)
Experience
- Minimum three years of relevant professional experience in a leading position in a lower administrative authority
- Extensive knowledge and experience in administrative work
