Job Summary

This role offers an opportunity to join the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team at Westnetz GmbH, Germany's largest distribution network operator, contributing directly to the energy transition and strengthening regional infrastructure. The Environmental Engineer will serve as an independent consultant to management and specialized departments, focusing on critical environmental topics. Daily responsibilities include conceptually advancing hazardous substance management, integrating new environmental and hazardous substance legislation, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The engineer will advise on waste disposal, soil and water protection, and dangerous goods management. A key component of the job involves designing and conducting training measures for leaders and employees, applying and developing IT tools for environmental protection, and generating required status reports and annual summaries. Candidates must possess a degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences, or Environmental Sciences and demonstrate the ability to drive change and communicate complex content effectively to diverse audiences.
