Job Summary

This role seeks a Laboratory Technician or Specialist to join the Veterinary Diagnostics team, handling critical tasks across both Molecular Biology (PCR) and Pathology. The daily responsibilities in the PCR lab involve examining livestock swabs using molecular biological methods, including sample preparation, processing, sequencing, and the operation and control of analytical systems, followed by meticulous documentation and workflow optimization. In Pathology, the specialist will manage the acceptance of animal and organ samples, perform necessary procedures like animal euthanasia (requiring specific certification for animal welfare compliance), conduct necropsies for sampling, and prepare samples for disease detection (e.g., Salmonella, parasites). Candidates must possess vocational training as a Biology Laboratory Technician (BTA), VMTA, MTA, or equivalent. Practical experience in PCR, sequencing, automation, or robotics is highly desirable. Strong computer skills, particularly with MS Office and laboratory databases, are essential.
