Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Energy and Building Services Engineering degree program by supplementing theoretical instruction with practical laboratory sessions and PC exercises. The Laboratory Engineer is responsible for the preparation, execution, and follow-up of these practical units, ensuring students gain hands-on experience in complex energy and building systems. Key responsibilities include the design, setup, and development of sophisticated energy technology systems, including associated measurement, testing, and control technology for both teaching and research. The successful candidate will also manage the technical and organizational oversight of specialized laboratories, ensure operational safety, quality assurance, and documentation, and provide technical support for research projects and facility management. This is an attractive, permanent, full-time position within a state-run dual university setting, offering stability and involvement in innovative educational and research concepts.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed relevant university degree (minimum Bachelor or equivalent, e.g., Dipl.-Ing. (BA/FH)) in Engineering Sciences with a focus on Energy Technology, Supply and Building Services Engineering, Environmental Technology, or related fields.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience, preferably in a university environment or in the development, planning, operation, and/or execution of energy and building services technology
  • Professional experience in Measurement, Control, and Regulation Technology (MCR)
  • Experience in the development and integration of complex technical systems (advantageous)
  • Experience in teaching and interest in innovative teaching concepts (advantageous)
