Job Summary
This role involves supporting advanced experimental physics research at the Department of Applied Physics, focusing on semiconductor structures (Silicon Carbide) and quantum electronics using ion implantation facilities. The specialist will be primarily responsible for the independent maintenance, repair, and technical support of complex research equipment, specifically two heavy ion accelerators (2-MeV and 350-keV) including Rutherford Backscattering Spectroscopy (RBS) and single-ion implantation experiments. Key tasks include developing sophisticated, custom analog and digital electronic circuits, integrating microcontrollers, and providing technical guidance to scientific staff and students (Bachelor, Master, PhD candidates). The ideal candidate must possess a degree in Electronics/Measurement Technology, strong knowledge of circuit design, and excellent proficiency in both German (C2) and English (C1) to effectively operate within this high-tech, international research environment.
Required Skills
Education
University of Applied Sciences Degree (FH-Ingenieur) in Electronics/Measurement Technology or a related discipline. Certified Electrician according to VDE 0701-0702 is desirable.
Experience
- Professional experience in Electronics/Measurement Technology or a related discipline
- Experience with maintenance and technical support of complex research facilities, particularly particle accelerators or similar high-vacuum/high-voltage systems
- Experience in developing and testing custom electronic circuits
- Experience in technical training or guidance of students/scientific staff (Bachelor, Master, PhD candidates)

- Must be willing to serve as a Radiation Protection Officer. The position is initially temporary (BEFRISTET) but aims for permanent employment upon suitability.
