This role offers a highly autonomous opportunity for a Research Associate to pursue scientific qualification (PhD track) within the Institute for Automation Technology, specializing in Control Engineering. The primary focus involves conducting fundamental theoretical research on the control of systems with locally distributed parameters and applying these findings to innovative technological processes. Daily responsibilities include writing high-impact publications, presenting results at national and international conferences, and actively contributing to the organization and expansion of the research focus area. The associate will also be responsible for acquiring third-party funding, undertaking teaching duties (4 semester hours per week), and supervising student work. Key requirements include an above-average completed scientific university degree in a relevant field like Cybernetics, Mechatronics, or Applied Mathematics, extensive knowledge of System Theory, and fluency in both German and English (C1 level).
