Job Summary

This role involves pioneering the development and refinement of a 50 kg batch polycondensation process crucial for creating innovative, novel polyester-based plastic products within a fast-scaling deep-tech startup. The Polymerization Engineer will be responsible for building the entire end-to-end process, from monomer dosing and catalyst addition through multiple polymerization stages, culminating in the final polymer pellet production. Key responsibilities also include performing rigorous techno-economic assessments, detailed process simulations, and mass/energy balance calculations to optimize the process. Candidates must possess a strong background in polymer science, particularly polyesters, and be proficient in process safety techniques like HAZOP analysis.
