Job Summary

This role involves managing the complex IT infrastructure for the Heidenheim District Administration, which supports approximately 700 client systems, 150 servers (90% virtualized), and over 200 specialized applications. The System Administrator will be responsible for the conception, coordination, and execution of IT projects, often working alongside external service providers, and managing associated budgets. A core part of the job includes active participation in E-Government and digitalization initiatives, as well as handling IT procurement and tenders. Day-to-day tasks also involve the administration of Microsoft-based IT systems. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification, possesses strong knowledge of both Linux and Microsoft administration, and is proficient in virtual server and client environments.
