Job Summary
This role is ideal for an experienced automation professional who enjoys automating power plants but prefers to minimize travel and on-site programming. As an Automation Technician (Simulation) based in Essen, you will be responsible for developing high-fidelity simulations of power plant automation systems and linking them to the simulated field level. Key tasks include coordinating simulation-specific inquiries with control system engineers and manufacturers, and performing validation and verification of the control system simulation. You will also contribute to the continuous development of the in-house toolset and optimization of development processes. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Information Technology with a focus on Automation Technology, along with professional experience in power plant process automation using common control systems (e.g., SPPA T3000, PCS7, ABB 800xA). Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Information Technology with a focus on Automation Technology or equivalent
Experience
- Professional experience in automating power plant processes
- Experience with common control systems (SPPA T3000, PCS7, ABB 800xA, Foxboro, GE Mark VI, etc.)
- Experience working in a team with experienced developers on real simulation projects
