Job Summary

The Coordinator Security Operations Center (SOC) will be instrumental in shaping the future of a newly established central IT service provider for public universities in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. This role focuses on defining, implementing, and optimizing the SOC service portfolio, ensuring modern, secure, and efficient solutions for sensitive data protection. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with clear metrics, modeling and optimizing SOC processes and roles, and coordinating communication with universities and governing bodies. The coordinator will also manage external service providers, oversee quality assurance for security services, and handle reporting, licensing, and financial management. Candidates must possess a university degree in Computer Science or IT Security, several years of professional experience in SOC, CERT, or IT Security Incident Response, and fundamental knowledge of current attack techniques (MITRE ATT&CK) and network protocols. The position requires strong communication, moderation, and analytical skills, offering the reliability of public service combined with the agility of a startup environment.
