Job Summary

This critical role seeks an experienced Materials Engineer to act as a key consultant across various technical departments, including manufacturing, development, and purchasing, while also supporting and qualifying suppliers concerning non-destructive testing (NDT), materials, and specialized processes. Day-to-day activities involve analyzing, evaluating, validating, and approving metallic aerospace materials—from raw forgings and castings to finished, assembled components. You will be instrumental in introducing new materials and processes, supporting internal manufacturing in applying special processes to aerospace parts, and ensuring rigorous quality standards by monitoring material-related quality processes. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Materials Engineering and possesses fundamental knowledge of material processing and the effects of specialized treatments on surface structures. Fluency in both German and English is essential, making this an excellent opportunity for a professional ready to drive material integrity within the demanding aerospace sector.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Materials Engineering or another technical degree with a focus on Materials Technology

Experience

  • Professional experience in the metal processing industry
  • Experience in manufacturing aerospace components (ideally)
  • Experience with special processes such as welding, heat treatment, and surface treatments
  • Level III or experienced Level II Certification (EN4179/NAS410) in NDT (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection and Radiography) (desired)
