This role seeks a talented Financial Data Engineer and Software Developer to join the Central Quant Team, focusing on shaping and maintaining the Public Markets Analytical Data Platform. The core responsibility involves developing and maintaining analytical tools, workflows, and robust data pipelines essential for portfolio management. Day-to-day tasks include designing comprehensive data models for structured and unstructured data, driving standardization in coding practices, and collaborating closely with IT teams to build scalable, production-ready solutions. The ideal candidate possesses a Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field (such as Computer Science, Data Science, or Finance), coupled with strong Python programming skills focused on clean, testable code. Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and financial instruments is vital. This position offers a unique opportunity to directly impact the investment process of a top asset manager by translating complex quantitative ideas into tangible business solutions.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Finance.

Experience

  • Professional experience in developing and maintaining analytical tools and data pipelines
  • Experience with Databricks and Apache Spark, Azure DevOps, and Git or similar applications
  • Professional experience applying strong programming skills in Python for production-quality code
  • Deep understanding of capital markets and financial instruments, ideally in asset management
  • Experience with time series analysis, portfolio analytics, and risk metrics
