Job Summary
This role involves working as a Civil Engineer within the regional business division of the Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction and Transport in Lingen, focusing on developing and shaping regional infrastructure in the Emsland area. Depending on the assigned department (Planning & Design, Road Construction, or Operations & Traffic), the engineer will handle tasks such as planning and designing road construction projects, managing tendering processes, overseeing construction contracts, conducting environmental studies (emissions/immisions), and coordinating with public stakeholders and external engineering firms. Key requirements include a degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical field, strong organizational skills, self-initiative, and proven proficiency in German (C1 level). Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable technical field (e.g., Traffic Engineering, Industrial Engineering with a technical focus). For civil servants: Qualification for the first entry-level position of career group 2, Technical Services.
Experience
- Professional experience in planning and designing road construction projects (depending on specialization)
- Experience in creating tender documents and evaluating bids
- Experience in construction contract management and monitoring warranty claims
