Job Summary
This role is central to driving the digital transformation within the public research sector, specifically for several federal research institutions and agencies under the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMLEH). The IT Architect will join the "Future IT" working group, focusing on strategically modernizing and consolidating heterogeneous IT landscapes. Day-to-day tasks involve analyzing existing systems, developing viable target architectures for shared IT solutions, and implementing concrete measures for a unified IT environment. The successful candidate will leverage creativity and pragmatism to steer complex decision-making processes, moderate discussions with high-level stakeholders, and ensure technical and organizational feasibility. This position offers significant creative freedom and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to research and societal issues concerning food security and modern agriculture.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree, University Diploma, or comparable qualification in a MINT (STEM) field, or comparable qualification with proven IT expertise
Experience
- Professional experience in holistic consideration of IT landscapes
- Several years of experience in the conception and implementation of IT projects
- Experience in IT consolidation or merging heterogeneous system landscapes (ideally)
- Experience in accompanying change processes and organizational development
- Experience in administration and/or research digitalization (ideally)
