Job Summary
This role seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, specify, and commission electrical and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems for large-scale solar thermal plants, focusing on industrial decarbonization. The specialist will be responsible for the conceptual design of electrical trace heating (ETH) systems, selection of measurement and control technology (MSR), and specifying electrical drives for parabolic mirror tracking systems. Key activities include creating tender documents, evaluating bids, and ensuring compliance with IEC/VDE standards. The ideal candidate possesses a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, combined with at least five years of professional experience in renewable energy or industrial plant construction. This position offers the opportunity to drive innovation in solar technology within a dynamic, international engineering center, requiring strong technical skills in electrical planning, automation logic, and on-site commissioning.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Mechatronics, or a comparable field
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in planning and designing electrical systems
- Experience in renewable energy or industrial plant construction (CSP, PV, industrial plants) is ideal
- Experience in creating tender documents and evaluating bids for ETH systems
- Experience supporting on-site commissioning and testing of prototypes and pre-series systems
