Job Summary
This role involves coordinating the development of a state-of-the-art research campus for two leading Max Planck Institutes in Martinsried, Munich, focusing specifically on laboratory and technical infrastructure. The coordinator acts as the scientific-technical user representative, bridging the gap between daily laboratory operations and the technical building equipment (TGA). Key responsibilities include translating research, administration, and facilities requirements into clear, verifiable specifications for labs and TGA, driving standardization, and evaluating general planner solutions for flexibility, sustainability, and user needs. The ideal candidate possesses a background in natural sciences with lab experience or a technical/construction degree with professional experience, coupled with a solid understanding of laboratory processes, safety requirements, and general building technology. This is a unique opportunity to shape a highly modern, sustainable, and adaptive research infrastructure using digital tools like Building Information Management (BIM) and CAFM integration.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Natural Sciences or a degree in Construction/Technical fields
Experience
- Several years of laboratory experience (required for natural science background)
- Several years of professional experience (required for construction/technical background)
- Familiarity with planning, conversion, commissioning, or qualification/accreditation processes for laboratories
- Experience with safety requirements and equipment parks in research settings
