Job Summary

This role involves taking technical responsibility for the materialography laboratory's equipment, including maintenance, supply management, and ordering. The successful candidate will independently prepare metallic and non-metallic materials using materialographic techniques such as grinding, polishing, and contrasting, ensuring thorough documentation. Key responsibilities also include creating microstructural images, preparing them for material science investigations, and performing qualitative and quantitative microstructural evaluations, including phase identification, grain size determination, microhardness measurements, and layer thickness determination using digital image processing software. Additionally, the role involves instructing and supporting students in practical lab techniques for their Bachelor's and Master's theses, and managing the procurement and safe handling of acids, alkalis, and other etching agents, including preparing etching solutions. This position requires a self-starter with strong organizational skills and a willingness to engage in professional development.

Completed vocational training as a Technical Assistant, Physical-Chemical Assistant in materialography or materials testing, or as a Metallographer or Chemical Laboratory Technician
