Job Summary

This Senior Systems Engineer role focuses on ensuring the stable, secure, and efficient operation of decentralized applications and complex server solutions for the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). Day-to-day responsibilities include providing 2nd and 3rd level support, managing incidents, troubleshooting application operations, and acting as a specialist for middleware products, particularly application servers. You will be responsible for planning, building, and operating complex Windows and UNIX server environments, including virtualization under ESX, often within highly secured environments. The ideal candidate possesses a relevant IT degree or equivalent qualification, at least five years of professional experience operating Windows and UNIX derivatives (AIX, Suse, RedHat), and solid knowledge of compliance standards (ITIL, ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001). This position requires strong decision-making skills and offers the opportunity to contribute directly to Germany's security through challenging digitalization projects.
