Job Summary

This role involves supporting the implementation of the National Action Plan for Natural Climate Protection (ANK) within protected areas across Saxony. The Climate Manager will be responsible for identifying suitable sites for natural climate protection measures, initiating concrete land-use projects, and coordinating their execution, including comprehensive project management. Key tasks include advising stakeholders on funding eligibility under current ANK guidelines, conducting extensive public relations and knowledge transfer activities, and organizing and moderating events. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Nature Conservation, Landscape Planning) and possesses strong experience in nature conservation, landscape management, and project coordination. Competent German language skills (C1 level) and strong communication abilities are essential for successful stakeholder engagement in this high-impact, fixed-term position.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed scientific university degree (Diploma / Master) in Biology, Nature Conservation, Landscape Management, Agriculture or Forestry, Landscape Planning, Geosciences, or a comparable field. (Master's accreditation required for university of applied sciences degrees.)

Experience

  • Knowledge and experience in nature conservation and landscape management
  • Knowledge and experience in area-based nature conservation and synergies between nature and climate protection
  • Knowledge and experience in project management
  • Experience in public relations (advantageous)
  • Experience working with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) (advantageous)
