Job Summary
This role involves working as an Environmental and Nature Conservation Officer within a collaborative office representing various recognized nature and environmental protection associations in Lower Saxony, Germany. The primary focus is on handling all technical aspects related to association involvement in environmental matters, including evaluating, analyzing, and providing recommendations in collaboration with member organizations. Day-to-day tasks include drafting specialized technical statements, conducting public relations activities, organizing events and training sessions, and representing the office externally to administration and professional bodies. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, or a related field, possesses deep knowledge of nature conservation, landscape planning, and water ecology, and demonstrates strong organizational, social, and teamwork skills. This position is based in Hannover, offers flexible hours (20-40 hours/week), and is initially limited until July 31, 2027, serving as parental leave cover.
Required Skills
Education
University Degree (Diplom, M.Sc.) in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Landscape Ecology, Landscape Planning, or comparable studies
Experience
- Professional experience in the fields of nature conservation and environmental protection (advantageous)
- Experience in working with volunteer-based environmental organizations
