Job Summary

This position calls for a dedicated Water Management Engineer to join the Water Maintenance Association, focusing on the ecological development and maintenance of flowing waters and flood protection projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing planning and construction phases for these environmental projects, coordinating water maintenance measures, and preparing and conducting official water inspections. A critical task involves processing the water body maintenance plan utilizing the state software PROGEMIS and liaising closely with member municipalities and regulatory authorities. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Water Management or Hydraulic Engineering, coupled with extensive practical knowledge of water ecology, hydraulics, and relevant German public procurement and water laws (VOB, WHG). The role offers an attractive, unlimited full-time contract (39 hours, part-time possible), compensation based on the TVöD-VKA pay scale (Grade 10), 30 days of annual leave, and the option for mobile working after the probationary period.

Required Skills

Education

Master of Science, Master of Engineering, or equivalent degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in Water Management or Hydraulic Engineering

Experience

  • Professional experience in planning and managing ecological development projects for flowing waters
  • Professional experience in planning and managing flood protection projects
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Procurement Law (VOB)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Water Law (WHG and ThürWG)
