Job Summary

The Deutsche Bahn is seeking a Specialist Planner for Overhead Catenary Systems to manage and execute electrical/mechanical (E/M) coordination within track construction and internal projects in the Southwest region. This crucial role involves planning, realization, and control of complex infrastructure measures, ensuring the longevity and safety of the railway network for future generations. Day-to-day tasks include creating detailed plans, managing permit applications (EBSÜ changes), coordinating extensively with all project stakeholders, firms, and governmental authorities, and assisting with multi-year and annual construction operational planning. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical training, coupled with several years of experience in planning and construction phases, particularly within the challenging railway environment, such as building under rolling stock or managing overhead line maintenance. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, economic thinking, and strict adherence to relevant construction and railway regulations (VV BAU-STE, VOB/VOL/HOAI).

Required Skills

Education

Successful completion of a university or technical college degree in Electrical Engineering, or successful completion of vocational training in a technical profession, preferably in Electrical Engineering.

Experience

  • Several years of experience in planning and/or construction phases
  • Deep technical knowledge during planning and/or construction phases, especially for construction during operation of electrical systems
  • Experience in the railway environment, including commissioning, construction under rolling stock, and maintenance of overhead line systems

  • Knowledge of VOB (German Construction Contract Procedures), VOL (German Public Procurement Regulations), and HOAI (Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers) is highly desirable.
