Job Summary
This crucial role as a Signaling and Interlocking Technician, based in Dortmund, involves ensuring the smooth operation of 30 kilometers of public and 100 kilometers of non-public rail network for a key regional infrastructure provider. Day-to-day responsibilities include initiating, executing, and monitoring all planned and unplanned maintenance activities, with a primary focus on control and safety technology (LST). The Technician will independently handle disturbance calls, perform detailed troubleshooting analyses, and manage external service providers. Key technical tasks involve conducting and overseeing electrical inspections of fixed LST installations such as interlocking systems, level crossings, and signals, ensuring compliance with legal standards. Additionally, the role includes updating technical documentation, supporting internal projects, and acting as a technical contact for customers, including preparing quotations. Candidates must possess a completed vocational training in electronics, further certified as a Technician or Master, along with extensive professional experience in LST and the fitness required for railway operations. This position offers a secure, full-time, permanent contract with attractive compensation under the IG Metall collective agreement and a 36-hour work week.
