Job Summary

This role involves working as a Civil Engineering Technician within the City of Rendsburg's Civil Engineering Department, focusing specifically on sustainable mobility and the development of bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the conception, coordination, and implementation of measures aimed at promoting cycling and walking within the city, supporting Rendsburg's goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2040. Key tasks include participating in road and traffic planning, providing expert consultation on infrastructure projects (including cycle paths, footpaths, and accessibility), managing the acquisition and coordination of public funding, and reviewing urban development plans. The position requires a qualified Civil Engineering Technician or Master Craftsman with strong organizational, communication, and conflict resolution skills, coupled with proficiency in standard office IT applications. This is an attractive, permanent, part-time position (19.5 hours/week) offering flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work.

Required Skills

Education

State-certified Technician in Civil Engineering (Specialization: Underground/Civil Engineering) or comparable qualification (e.g., Master Craftsman in Civil Engineering/Construction)

Experience

  • Professional experience in bicycle and pedestrian traffic planning (desirable)
  • Knowledge of funding management and procedures (desirable)
  • Knowledge of relevant civil engineering regulations and recommendations (RASt, ERA, EFA, H BVA) (desirable)
