Job Summary

This tenure-track position seeks an experienced Scientific Group Leader to drive cutting-edge research and operations at the PETRA III and PETRA IV facilities. The role centers on applying synchrotron radiation techniques, including advanced diffraction, scattering, and imaging methods (such as Bragg-CDI and tensor tomography). Day-to-day responsibilities involve leading a scientific team, managing complex research projects, and providing expert support to both academic user groups and industrial customers. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in a relevant scientific field (Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Biology) and possesses a strong record of publications, international collaboration, and proven leadership in X-ray instrumentation and beamline operation. Excellent English communication skills are mandatory, complemented by strong project management capabilities to ensure successful scientific outcomes.
