Job Summary
This pivotal Data Team Lead role drives Smartbroker's data and AI strategy by leading and mentoring highly skilled data, software, and AI engineers. The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of business and technology, focusing on generating significant business value through data-driven decision-making while ensuring compliance. Day-to-day tasks include managing the cloud-based data lake infrastructure (GCP/AWS), overseeing end-to-end data pipeline implementation, and owning the technical operation and maintenance of the team’s components. A key focus is the development and maintenance of AI/ML infrastructure, including implementing Generative AI use cases using LLMs and RAG, and managing tracking infrastructure (Google Tag Manager, Firebase). This position requires expert knowledge in ML/Gen AI, strong Python/SQL skills, deep cloud platform knowledge, and strong people/stakeholder management abilities. It is an unlimited contract opportunity within a fast-growing, award-winning fintech group in Berlin, offering flat hierarchies and agile processes.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in a technical field: Computer Science, Business Informatics, Natural Sciences, or similar
Experience
- Experience in leading and mentoring technical talent
- Professional experience in managing cloud-based data platforms
- Professional experience in end-to-end implementation of efficient data pipelines
- Professional experience with implementation of server-side tracking and consent management
- Professional experience in developing and maintaining technical AI and machine learning infrastructure
