Job Summary

This role seeks an Applied AI/ML Research Engineer to join the AI Research Department, focusing on transforming cutting-edge machine learning concepts into functional, embodied intelligent systems. Day-to-day responsibilities involve rapid research-to-prototype translation, exploring approaches like multimodal learning, 3D perception, and reinforcement or imitation learning, and implementing these models for perception, prediction, or action-related tasks. The engineer will build robust training and evaluation pipelines to analyze failure modes and align prototypes with real-world constraints. Essential qualifications include a Master’s or PhD (or equivalent practical experience) in a relevant field, coupled with strong Python engineering skills necessary for implementing models and training loops from scratch. Success requires proven ability to quickly translate hypotheses into working prototypes, strong debugging discipline, and the rigor to design reproducible experiments.
