Job Summary

This role involves taking ownership of the entire server infrastructure, including VMware, ESXi Hosts, Windows Server, and backup systems, within a global environment. The IT Infrastructure Administrator will be responsible for configuring and monitoring core network services like DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory, as well as managing and maintaining local Cisco switches, including VLANs and Link Aggregation. A key part of the job is ensuring compliance with global security standards such as TISAX, ISO 27001, and NIS-2, and managing the full lifecycle of IT infrastructure assets. The ideal candidate holds a degree or vocational qualification in IT, possesses several years of professional experience in IT infrastructure support, and has strong technical skills in virtualization (VMware), Windows Server administration, and Cisco networking. Fluency in both German and English is required for effective collaboration within the global IT team and participation in the 2nd-Level Support service desk.

Education

Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist, a degree in Information Technology, or a comparable qualification

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in IT infrastructure support
  • Experience with VMware vSphere / ESXi environments (including Storage and Host Management)
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Patching
  • Experience with Cisco CLI, VLANs, STP, Trunking, and network troubleshooting
  • Experience in planning the IT asset lifecycle and preventative maintenance
