Job Summary
The Deutsche Bundesbank is seeking a dedicated Web Application Services Engineer to join their journey toward becoming a digital central bank. This role, based in Düsseldorf, involves the installation and administration of Web Application Services across both Bundesbank infrastructure and various cloud environments (Private and Public Cloud). Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring, maintaining, and optimizing platform infrastructure while strictly adhering to security guidelines. A key focus will be on creating hardened images for technologies like Websphere Liberty, NGINX, Quarkus, and Spring Boot, and actively automating configurations to boost efficiency. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, possesses strong knowledge of scripting, Ansible for system automation, and experience with system management, software packaging, and patch management of web platforms. Excellent German and English language skills are essential, alongside experience working in agile teams, making this an ideal role for a professional looking to contribute to financial stability and central banking operations in a secure, high-impact environment.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a comparable degree with an information technology focus
Experience
- Professional experience in web application services administration
- At least three years of professional experience, or comparable knowledge, in an IT-focused area (if lacking a relevant degree)
- Experience in agile working methods
- Experience with system management and software packaging/patch management
Languages
Additional
- Willingness to undergo a security clearance check (SÜG) by the Federal Security Clearance Act; Willingness to provide last-level support via on-call duty.
