Job Summary
The Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS) is seeking a Software Developer to join the Scientific Databases and Visualization (SDBV) group. This role is crucial for supporting the LiSyM Cancer research network by providing robust data management services utilizing platforms such as FAIRDOM SEEK, NextCloud, OMERO, REDCap, and openBIS. Day-to-day responsibilities involve developing and administering software, applying agile methodologies, automatic testing, and test-driven development, while also interfacing with diverse national and international users and collaboration partners. Candidates must possess a degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and proven experience in web engineering and software implementation. A fundamental requirement is the ability to comprehend, extend, and modify existing code, particularly that written in JAVA. Fluency in English is mandatory. This fixed-term position until June 2027 offers a dynamic research environment, flexible working hours, and opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration within the first-class computational infrastructure at HITS.
