Job Summary

This role seeks a Project Coordinator for Geobasis Data and Visualization at the Hessian State Office for Land Management and Geoinformation (HLBG) in Wiesbaden. The position is initially fixed for two years with the goal of becoming permanent. You will be a key member of a 14-person, cross-state team developing automated generalization procedures for AAA datasets to create new cartographic products. Daily tasks involve significant project coordination, including organizing meetings and workshops, ensuring smooth communication across the team, and steering tasks to meet project objectives. A critical component is liaising with external service providers, negotiating technical software requirements, and conducting thorough software acceptance testing based on standardized test cases and use cases. Candidates must hold a university degree in Cartography, Geoinformatics, or Geography and possess native or C1 level German proficiency, along with good English skills for technical documentation and discussions.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor/Master/equivalent) in Cartography, Geoinformatics, Geography, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in project work (Desirable)
  • Experience in project and process management (Desirable)
  • Experience applying GIS and standard specialized software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and FME (Desirable)
