Job Summary

The City of Freiburg is seeking an Electrical Engineering Project Lead to manage construction and maintenance projects for municipal buildings and facilities, with a total construction volume up to 3 million EUR. This role involves acting as the client representative, overseeing planning and execution, and managing the assigned budget economically. The Project Lead will be responsible for the operational management of electro-technical systems, developing and implementing energy-saving and ecological standards, and collaborating with teams in structural engineering, technical building services, and energy management. Ideal candidates will possess a degree in Electrical or Information Technology, or a qualification as an Electrical Technician/Master Craftsman with relevant professional experience, particularly in project management covering all phases (1-9) of the HOAI (Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers). This is a vital role focused on modernizing and future-proofing the city's diverse portfolio of approximately 500 municipal buildings.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Electrical or Information Technology, Electrical Power Systems and Electromobility/Renewable Energies, or Building Energy Systems (focusing on Electrical Engineering); OR Completed advanced training as a Technician / Master Craftsman in Electrical Engineering with a willingness to participate in a qualification program.

Experience

  • Professional experience in planning electrical building technology as a Project Manager
  • Experience in overseeing all service phases (1-9) of the HOAI independently in projects or large projects
  • Professional experience and knowledge in project leadership and project control (from planning through tendering and construction to billing)
