Job Summary
This leadership role involves taking charge of the entire IT department for the Leopoldina, Germany's National Academy of Sciences, across its locations in Halle and Berlin. The Head of IT will be responsible for the strategic planning, management, and continuous development of the complete IT infrastructure (hardware and software), leading a small team of two employees. Key responsibilities include driving digitalization and process optimization projects, developing a comprehensive IT strategy concept, managing external IT services and contracts, and ensuring compliance with IT security and GDPR regulations. The ideal candidate possesses a Master's degree in IT-related fields, coupled with substantial professional and leadership experience in managing complex IT processes and multi-project environments. This is a crucial, permanent full-time position offering the opportunity to shape the technological future of a prestigious national academy, requiring strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills in both German and English.

Education
University degree (Master's or equivalent) in Computer Science, Administrative Informatics, Business Informatics, or equivalent relevant skills and experience
Experience
- Several years of professional and leadership experience in managing complex IT processes
- Experience in overall and multi-project management
- Desirable experience in planning, implementing, and developing digitalization projects
