Job Summary

This role involves working as a Customer Support Engineer for Airbus Secure Land Communications, focusing on advanced communication solutions for sectors like public safety, defense, and transport. The core responsibilities include the setup, installation, and maintenance of virtual and physical Linux servers, specifically utilizing technologies like RedHat Enterprise Linux and CentOS. Day-to-day tasks involve acting as 2nd Level Support for incident management, analyzing complex system disruptions, and conducting problem management. Additionally, the engineer will contribute to operative release management (Core and Radio Network), handle change and configuration management, and ensure thorough documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Computer Science or a related technical qualification, strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Switching, Routing, Firewall), and fluency in both German and English, coupled with a willingness to travel occasionally.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Computer Science, or completed vocational training as an IT Specialist, IT System Electronics Technician, IT System Management Assistant, or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience in server environments (RedHat Enterprise Linux and CentOS)
  • Professional experience with complex disruption analysis and problem management
