Job Summary
This role involves enforcing the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) for the City of Wolfsburg, ensuring the protection of the public and the environment from pollution, noise, and vibration. Key responsibilities include managing complex permitting procedures, conducting public participation processes, and performing environmental impact assessments for various regulated and non-regulated facilities. Day-to-day tasks involve handling citizen complaints regarding noise, odor, and smoke pollution, conducting operational inspections, and initiating legal and administrative enforcement procedures, including facility shutdowns or fines, when necessary. The specialist will also coordinate expert statements and contribute to strategic environmental planning by updating the city's Noise Action Plan and Air Quality Control Plan. Candidates must possess a university degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field, ideally with professional experience in these specific tasks, and demonstrate C1 level German proficiency.
