Job Summary

This is a full-time, fixed-term position (initially 2 years) for a highly engaged Technical Assistant and Construction Materials Tester, focusing on experimental research within the "HMV-Öko-Beton" project. The core responsibilities include the independent planning and execution of construction material tests, both in the laboratory and on construction sites, involving standard and special concretes, mortars, and other mineral-bound materials. Daily tasks involve sample preparation, data evaluation, maintaining testing equipment, and contributing to the development of new testing procedures. The role requires a completed qualification as a Construction Materials Tester, deep technical understanding, comprehensive knowledge of concrete technology, and practical experience in on-site sampling. Furthermore, the candidate will coordinate practical work for research projects, supervise junior staff, and ensure strict adherence to quality management systems. Fluent German skills are a prerequisite for success in this demanding and technically focused research environment.

Completed qualification as a Construction Materials Tester (Baustoffprüfer)

Experience

  • Deep knowledge of material compositions (Standard and Special Concretes, Mortars, Plasters)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing technology and application of mineral-bound construction materials (focus on Concrete)
  • Practical experience in on-site sample collection, preparation, and testing
  • Comprehensive knowledge of testing mechanical and durability characteristics using testing machines
  • Knowledge of current technical standards, regulations, and state of the art technology
