Job Summary

This role involves specialized characterization and validation of high-frequency semiconductor components, including Mixed-Signal ASICs, RFICs, and MMICs, supporting a renowned client in the aerospace and radar technology sector in Duisburg. The Characterization Engineer will focus on implementing and optimizing complex measurement setups to analyze high-frequency and mixed-signal parameters, performing measurements on coaxial and wafer samples in the micro- and millimeter-wave range. A core part of the job is data acquisition, analysis, and comprehensive documentation using tools like MATLAB and Python, which is critical for design and test processes, as well as cost and time estimation. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Electrical Engineering or similar, possesses deep knowledge of high-frequency measurement techniques, calibration, and de-embedding, and is proficient in operating advanced measurement systems such as VNAs and oscilloscopes. Strong communication skills in both German and English are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams across design, test, and production.

Completed university degree or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Communications Technology, Microelectronics, or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Characterization experience with semiconductor components (ASICs, MMICs, RF components)
  • Routine experience working with measurement systems (e.g., VNA, SMU, Oscilloscope, Climate Chamber)
  • IT knowledge in automation and data analysis (Python, MATLAB or similar)
