This role involves strengthening the IT security posture of the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Research Neutron Source (FRM II), one of the world's most powerful neutron sources, located in Garching near Munich. The specialist will be responsible for implementing requirements derived from the SEWD-IT directive, focusing on the operational IT systems and diverse networks, ranging from standard PCs to highly specialized control systems used for monitoring the FRM II. Key activities include defining and implementing IT security measures, tailoring operating systems, managing network interfaces, and handling role-based access rights, all while adhering to strict regulatory requirements like the BSI IT Baseline Protection.
