Job Summary

This full-time, permanent position as an Analytical Chemist or Laboratory Engineer focuses on the analysis and assessment of food, drinking water, and tobacco products within the scope of official monitoring at the CVUA Sigmaringen state laboratory. The role centers on utilizing and maintaining a highly modern laboratory equipped with advanced Gas Chromatography (GC) and Mass Spectrometry (MS) systems, including Triple-Quad and QTOF-MS. Day-to-day responsibilities include processing service orders, developing new GC/GC-MS analytical methods from sample preparation to evaluation, troubleshooting and maintaining complex analytical systems, and specific sample preparation techniques for volatile compounds. Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in Chemistry, possess fundamental knowledge and professional experience in GC/MS, and demonstrate strong technical understanding and analytical skills. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Diploma Engineer (FH) in Chemistry or comparable field, specialized in GC/GC-MS.

Experience

  • Professional experience in Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS)
  • Experience in method development for complex analytical procedures (advantageous)
  • Experience in maintenance and support of complex analytical devices (advantageous)
