Job Summary
This crucial role involves acting as the responsible System Librarian for the integrated library system (Libero ILMS), driving its modernization through the strategic application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for automation, such as automated thematic indexing of the press and cataloging systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include system configuration, development of documentation, training, and managing, analyzing, and migrating complex library data. You will also be responsible for selecting and developing specialized literature and ensuring high-quality information services are delivered to political decision-makers. This position offers a unique opportunity to significantly shape the digitalization of services for the Swiss Parliament, providing essential information to the Federal Assembly and its staff in a dynamic political environment.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in Information Science, ideally supplemented by Data Science training
Experience
- Professional experience in administering Integrated Library Management Systems (ILMS)
- Deep knowledge of metadata standards, cataloging, and classification principles
- Foundational knowledge in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
- Strong interest in Swiss politics and knowledge of the functioning of political institutions
