Job Summary
The Joint Competence and Service Center for Police Forces (GKDZ) is seeking a full-time, permanent IT Administrator in Leipzig. This critical role involves the conception, implementation, and optimization of secure IT infrastructures and services, supporting the prevention, investigation, and prosecution of crimes. Day-to-day tasks include operating and monitoring security-critical applications, managing the overall network (including VoIP), implementing virtualization solutions, and maintaining comprehensive IT documentation. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical qualification, coupled with at least three years of professional experience in specialized areas like network administration (Cisco, Firewalls), storage technologies (SAN, SQL/NoSQL databases like Cassandra), and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker). Required Skills
Education
University degree in Computer Science or a comparable field, or a state-certified qualification as an IT Technician or comparable qualification.
Experience
- Minimum three years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: Network Administration, Storage and Data Processing, or Container Orchestration
- Professional experience in Routing & Switching (CISCO IOS)
- Professional experience with Firewall configuration
- Professional experience with VoIP technologies (CUCM, CUBE)
- Professional experience with Fiberchannel (CISCO) and SAN
- Professional experience with MS-SQL and NoSQL databases (Cassandra)
- Professional experience with Container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) and Microservice Architectures (Kafka)
