Job Summary
The West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau (WHZ) is seeking a Professor of Computer Science specializing in Intelligent Database Systems to join the Faculty of Physical Technology/Computer Science. This full-time, permanent position, starting March 1, 2027, involves comprehensive teaching and research activities in Database Systems, Database Management Systems, and Data Management across Bachelor's and Master's programs. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct lectures in both German and English, actively participate in quality management for teaching and curriculum development, and engage in applied research and development with external partners. Experience

- Professional experience in teaching at universities in related subjects (preferred)
- Special achievement in scientific work, typically demonstrated by a doctoral degree
- At least 5 years of professional practice demonstrating special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods
- At least 3 years of professional practice outside the higher education sector
- Relevant scientific and entrepreneurial experience in database systems and data analysis fields
