Job Summary
The Deggendorf Water Management Office is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join their team, focusing on the supervision of industrial and commercial water systems. This is a permanent, part-time role (up to 36 hours/week) centered in Deggendorf, Germany. Day-to-day responsibilities include the crucial monitoring of approximately 200 commercial and industrial wastewater discharge facilities, ranging from glass and metal processing to paper and sugar factories. You will conduct on-site inspections, perform sampling, and evaluate facility components to ensure regulatory compliance. A key function involves acting as an official expert, preparing technical reports for wastewater discharge permitting procedures. The role requires strong coordination skills to liaise effectively with companies, planning offices, and other authorities. Candidates must hold a completed degree in Environmental Engineering or a comparable field and possess a Class B driver's license, as frequent, year-round field work, often in challenging terrain, is required.
