Job Summary

This role is for a dedicated Structural Engineer specializing in the static and constructive aspects of subway infrastructure, including bridge and tunnel construction, within the Berlin public transport system. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed static calculations for steel and reinforced concrete structures, assessing the stability and operational safety of existing subway systems due to external influences or damage, and developing crucial technical guidelines for both renovation and new construction projects. A key component involves acting as a certified expert, reviewing planning documents and static calculations for operational management. The position requires a Master's degree in Civil Engineering and excellent German proficiency (C1). The role offers the opportunity to work independently within an experienced team, coordinating with internal departments, Senate offices, and external engineering firms, ensuring the sustainable development of Berlin's vital public transport network.

Required Skills

Education

Scientific Degree (University Diploma / Master) in Civil Engineering

Experience

  • Relevant professional experience in structural civil engineering
  • Experience applying relevant laws, ordinances, and DIN norms (e.g., Eurocode, BOStrab, VOB, HOAI, VDV Tunnel Construction Guidelines)

Languages
