Job Summary

This role involves contributing to the sustainable development of Switzerland by focusing on spatial planning, specifically concerning Cantonal Master Plans and landscape management within Central Switzerland. The planner will be responsible for drafting memoranda, support documentation, and preparing official opinions related to nature and landscape sectors in master plans. A key function involves evaluating the overall master plans and their modifications for the Cantons of Central Switzerland (LU, NW, OW, SZ, UR, ZG) across various themes like settlements, transport, and energy. The successful candidate will also provide consultation to Cantons, collaborate with federal services, and represent the Planning Section in relevant committees. This position requires a university degree in planning or a related field, practical experience with Swiss planning instruments, and strong German editorial skills to handle crucial dossiers. This is a critical role in shaping the future living space in Switzerland.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Spatial Planning, Territorial Development and Infrastructural Systems, Architecture, Geography, or similar.

Experience

  • First practical experience in Swiss territorial planning
  • Solid knowledge of relevant Swiss planning instruments
  • Professional experience in drafting official reports and documentation

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Strong editorial competence in German is required for handling dossiers and drafting documents. Sensitivity to political issues is necessary. The position is part-time (70-70%) based in Bern-Ittigen with home office flexibility.
